Actually, I was Chris most immediately before changing my name.

First there was Chrissy (apparently when I was very small I insisted on this name), then it was Chrissi in junior high, then in high school it became Chrissie, in college it was Chris. (At the very end of high school I had a short period of experimentation with "Christina" but it didn't stick.) Oh yeah, and my pediatrician tried hard to convince my parents to use "Tina," but that never flew, although anukul thought that was cute and tried to revive it, unsuccessfully.

So as you can see my legal name change was not exactly a freak incident. It did, however, seem to finally scratch the itch.

I think I knew that, actually. I wasn't going for that effect.

I think I'm amending the name of my gun to the phonemes /krisI/ with no set spelling. :-)
